New! Line Splice Now Available in 10mm & 12mm Metric Sizes

New! Line Splice Now Available in 10mm & 12mm Metric Sizes

Atlanta, GA (December 2009) – AirSept’s Line Splice is now available in new 10mm and 12mm sizes to fit metric OD lines used on import vehicles.

Repair rub-through damage and pinhole leaks in a steel or aluminum line with the new Line Splice from AirSept. Repairing just the damaged section requires much less labor time. Now you can repair damaged lines without removing the entire line.

With AirSept’s new Line Splice technicians can repair the damaged section of the line, offer the customer a lower cost, and make as much if not more profit as selling a new line. The shop saves the line cost, avoids the labor time of complete line R&R, and gets the repair done quickly.

The Line Splice works on steel or aluminum lines, including a/c, transmission, heater and power steering lines.

A new sealing sleeve is up to 8 times wider than a standard o-ring, for more seal contact area on irregular tubing surfaces. It helps prevent leak “travel” that can defeat narrow o-ring seals.

The wider sleeve also helps resist the vibration that creates leaks. A slotted tension ring and tapered nut guarantee a tight grip on the line.

AirSept’s new Line Splice works with standard open end wrenches, so no costly crimping tools are required.

The small footprint (under 2.5”) fits in tight spaces under the hood.

TENNECO offers strong support to industry’s ride control replacement recommendation.

Las Vegas, NV, Nov. 3, 2009 – Tenneco Inc.’s (NYSE: TEN) MonroeÆ shocks and struts brand has been a strong proponent of the 50,000-mile/80,000-kilometer replacement recommendation* since it was introduced in 2005. For the past five years, virtually all Monroe ride control marketing materials and consumer advertising campaigns have highlighted the replacement recommendation as well as Tenneco’s Safety Triangle vehicle maintenance message, which touts the importance of undercar safety inspections.

“Both the replacement recommendation and Safety Triangle message focus on the ultimate benefit of ride control service – increased driving safety,” said Monroe Brand Manager Carri Irby. “As consumers learn that shocks, struts and other key undercar components help keep them safe on the road, they are more likely to ask for a ride control inspection as part of their scheduled vehicle maintenance.”
Beef tallow is bad for your arteries, but Celebration resident Jeff Loch says it’s healthy for your pistons.

To prove he’s not just chewing the fat, Loch’s company, Green Earth Technologies, is sending Oviedo several months’ supply of the motor oil made from the meat byproduct. He says it will grease up the city’s car and lawn mower engines just as well as the petroleum-based equivalent and might even make them more efficient.

The company touts the product as biodegradable and points out that beef tallow is a renewable resource grown and processed in the U.S.

AAIA Introduces New DRIVE Online Aftermarket Training and Education Resource

BETHESDA, MD – Jan. 26, 2010 – With today’s unveiling of its new online directory for aftermarket training and education, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) urges all aftermarket companies and associations to submit their resources for inclusion. The Directory of Resources for Industry Valued Education (DRIVE), located at www.aftermarket.org/DRIVE, is a one-stop resource enabling the industry to easily locate available training and education information, materials and programs.

“Aftermarket companies have invested in developing training and education resources for customers and their employees,” said Kathleen Schmatz, AAIA president and CEO. “DRIVE is designed to make it easier to find the information and tools needed. And, since the directory is in Google format, DRIVE’s content will be updated when the participating organizations update their company Web sites.”

The Company Enhances its Factory New Program with Coreless Compressors

LONG BEACH, Calif. – In an effort to meet customer requirements, DENSO substantially improved its First Time Fit® automotive air conditioning compressor program.

Beginning with the 2010 program, all First Time Fit® remanufactured compressors will be coreless. The coreless conversion enhances the line’s cost-effectiveness by eliminating core charges and the costs associated with their collection, storage and return.

The coreless conversion affects many of DENSO’s key designs, including SB/SBU, SE and scroll compressors.

For more information, please contact your local DENSO sales representative or go to www.densocorp-na-dsca.com.
